The past few weeks have been a blur. A mad race to the finish line to present my ‘peelings’ to an entirely new audience at The Other Art Fair Sydney, presented by Saatchi Art.
I was 1 of 120 artists exhibiting. I had a very busy 3 days and one night and I worked really hard to interact with anyone who looked somewhat interested in my work. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to meet many of the other artists as I didn’t want to leave my stand. I did hav
e a lot of positive feedback which I tried to capture by interviewing them on my instagram account.
I ended up selling 12 Peelings which I think was a huge success. One of the Buyers was a soil scientist, who is going to hang the 1m x 1m 18kg Post-Industrial Peeling - Mastercut #5 in his office. He said they call the soil in that artwork, ‘urban soil’ which is perfect as when I created it in 2017 I said I peeled up urban and industrial spaces. Tick! :)
Meeting so many new people, and having the chance to talk to the people of Sydney about my work has been an incredible experience. Thank you so much to everyone for the support. A special thank you to The Other Art Fair Sydney and Saatchi Art for having me.
This is the first of many blog posts I will be posting here. You can also give me some love on my Facebook or Instagram @christophedomergueart
